Men & Building resilience
Life can throw a lot at you. Work, relationships, family, money and your own expectations can all pile up, and sometimes things simply don't go to plan. Building resilience isn't about pretending none of it bothers you. This session looks at how you can handle setbacks, understand your reactions and develop practical ways of dealing with pressure when life gets difficult.
This men-only session with James Elliott MSc looks at what resilience really is, not just pushing through, but knowing how to handle pressure without it building up and taking over.
Resilience isn’t about ignoring problems.
It’s about dealing with them in a way that doesn’t leave you worn down or constantly on edge.
This session breaks down how men can build real resilience, not the fake version that ends in burnout.
These sessions are practical, straight-talking, and built around real conversations with other men.

What are James’s sessions like?
James takes a slightly different approach to mental health. His sessions often draw on psychology, research, data and philosophy to help men understand why they might think, feel or behave the way they do.
He likes to explore the thinking behind mental health, sometimes challenging the way we see ourselves or the assumptions we’ve carried for years.
You don’t need to know anything about psychology or mental health. James breaks the ideas down, brings them into everyday life and gives you different ways of looking at what’s going on in your own head.
The aim is simple: to leave with something that makes you think, “I’d never looked at it like that before.”
