Trials with Flow Neuroscience

Trials with Flow Neuroscience

At MANUP? we're always looking for new, effective mental health treatments, but approach them with a healthy dose of scepticism.

We're particularly interested in a trial with Flow Neuroscience. Their innovative, medication-free depression treatment headset, used by over 16,000 people and trusted by the NHS, has shown promising results. Clinical trials have reported that it's twice as effective as antidepressants, with 57% of users becoming depression-free after 10 weeks, experiencing minimal side effects.

We're intrigued yet cautious. Such high success rates naturally raise questions, but we can't ignore the potential benefits for the wider community. If this device can provide a viable alternative to traditional treatments, especially for those for whom medication isn't practical or desirable, it could be a significant breakthrough in mental health care.

Our role in this trial will be to provide honest, transparent feedback. We aim to assess the headset's effectiveness from a real-world perspective, understanding its impact on everyday users. Our findings will determine whether this technology could be a game-changer in mental health treatment.

Upcoming Roundtable: Discussing CMS Reform with UK Parliament

We're thrilled to announce that our founder, Dan Somers, has been invited to participate in an exclusive roundtable discussion with MPs from the UK Parliament, led by Marco Longhi MP. The focus? The much-needed reform of the Child Maintenance Service (CMS).

Why It Matters

The CMS has long been a contentious issue, affecting the mental well-being of countless men who feel ignored, mistreated, or even lied to by the service. It's a system that's supposed to offer support but often ends up causing more harm than good.

Our Role

Dan will be bringing the unique insights and experiences we've gathered at MANUP? to the table. The aim is to highlight the flaws in the CMS and discuss actionable solutions. While reforming the CMS is no small feat, the collective input from organisations like ours can make a compelling case for change in Parliament.

Let's Make a Difference

We're committed to shaking things up and advocating for those who the system has let down. Stay tuned for updates on this pivotal discussion—it's time to drive real change in the world of mental health.

Working With COOP Funeral Homes

Here at MANUP?, we know the hard truth that many don't like to discuss - mental health can't be ignored. Sadly, some of our funding has come from those who've experienced the tragic loss of a loved one due to mental health problems.

Suicide? We rarely talk about it. Instead, we strive to change minds and hearts before that dark thought even surfaces. Our mission goes beyond social media; we're always exploring new avenues to reach communities, even where the digital age doesn't touch.

That's why we're immensely proud to announce our collaboration with the COOP. Their generous donation of a window space isn't just a gesture; it's a symbol. Designed to stop you in your tracks, this window covering invites you to pause, ponder and rethink mental health on the spot.

Let's make a stand in an age where scrolling past is the norm. Together, we can bring mental health out of the shadows and into the spotlight where it belongs.

The Living Library Podcast Series at The University of Suffolk

The Living Library Podcast Series at The University of Suffolk

MANUP? joined Viki Simpson at The University of Suffolk. Dan discusses his disdain for the term Toxic masculinity, and we discuss men’s mental health and how having a safe space to talk to other men is helping reduce the stigma and shame felt around male suicide. Dan touches on the Red Pill and the Manosphere.

Our firm belief is that we must distinguish between masculinity conversions and toxic masculinity terms when discussing masculinity.

We are in huge danger of silencing men if we continue to mix these terms together, as they are more likely to believe that speaking up about life problems makes no sense because they might think they will be labelled as toxic masculinity just because they are considered to be a typical bloke, which will make them think they won't be able to talk about it.

Metro Bank with The MYH Podcast

MANUP? will discuss burn-out and stress in the construction workplace at Metro Bank in Colchester, joined by Rob Muldoon from 'MYH Podcast'. Everyone is welcome to attend this free event and network with others interested in mental health in the workplace.

As a charity, we've had many conversations with people from the trades & construction world, with every conversation stating that mental health, burn-out, addiction & stress is getting worse, despite more help being available; why is this? What can be done?

Rob is a brickie and well-known mental health advocate who is actively helping businesses within the trade to educate themselves, staff, and contractors about mental health awareness.

Join this small networking event to hear Rob's thoughts, get some tips, and meet others who are also trying to make construction a better workplace.
