We’ve never been shy about saying it – at MANUP? we’re not big fans of awareness days. Too many get reduced to hashtags, hollow statements and corporate “allyship” that disappears the second the calendar rolls on.
But this one’s different.
Mark Brooks OBE, who will be joining us for this MANUP? Talks session is the driving force behind International Men’s Day UK, and one of the very few people who have made these awareness efforts meaningful.
Mark is Chair of the Men and Boys Coalition and was awarded an OBE for his work supporting men and boys, especially around issues like male victims of domestic abuse, male suicide, and the need for balanced, evidence-based conversations about gender.
On Thursday, November 13, just before this year’s International Men’s Day on November 19, Mark will provide a candid overview of the day's significance, its importance, and how anyone- be it a man, a woman, or an individual in a relevant organisation, can create an impactful contribution that goes beyond a social media post.
What we’ll cover:
What International Men’s Day UK is really about
The biggest wins and ongoing challenges for 2025
Why so many men still feel left out of the conversation
How to get involved in a way that supports men, not just markets to them
Open Q&A – anonymous participation welcome
This session is open to men and women, and as always, fully funded by MANUP?
Join us, via Zoom and hear from someone who’s helped shape real change.
