MANUP? Talks: Getting the Right Support

  • MANUP? ZOOM Crockatt Road Ipswich, England, IP7 6RH United Kingdom (map)

Our next MANUP? Talks session focuses on something most men struggle with. Getting the right help when they finally reach out.

Too many men walk into a GP appointment or meet a mental health worker and come out feeling unheard. Sometimes it is because they held back. Sometimes it is because the professional missed the point. This session aims to bridge that gap.

Alex is a Registered Mental Health Practitioner with the NHS and is widely respected across Ipswich and the surrounding areas. He has worked with men and families for years and knows exactly where things often go wrong, and more importantly, how to make them go right.

What this session covers

  • How to talk openly and honestly about what is actually going on.

  • How to explain your symptoms in a way that professionals understand.

  • How to recognise when you need to push back politely if you feel unheard.

  • What support options exist beyond therapy and medication.

  • How family and friends can help you get the support you need.

This is not about blaming professionals. It is about helping men communicate clearly and helping professionals understand them better. The goal is to give men and their families the confidence to ask the right questions and get the right help.

Who can join

MANUP? Talks sessions are open to men and women. Join us only if you genuinely want to listen, learn and be part of positive change for men.
