Bardwell Steam Threshing Day

  • Bardwell Windmill School Ln, Bardwell, Bury Saint Edmunds IP31 1AD United Kingdom (map)

Old engines. Local beer. Live music. Proper graft and real conversations.

This year’s Steam Threshing Day is supporting MANUP?, the only men’s mental health charity using fundraising money to pay for proper support and national research.

Expect vintage tractors, classic kit, a licensed bar from 10:30am till 11pm, and live music from 6:30pm. It’s £4 for adults, free for under 16s. Cash only on the gate. All proceeds go directly to MANUP?

This isn’t a polished wellbeing event. It’s for the kind of people who usually get left out of the conversation. Men who work with their hands. Men who are stuck in their own head. Men who’ve gone through stuff they’ve never talked about. And those who just want a day off with decent company.

Mental health messaging often misses these lads entirely. It's all corporate slogans and TikTok tips, but nothing aimed at the bloke with oil on his boots, stress behind his eyes, and no idea who to turn to.

That’s why MANUP? is proud to be part of this. Our ambassador, Alastair & trustee, Jack, will be there too. No gimmicks. Just turning up, having a chat, and reminding people that men’s mental health is everyone’s issue.

If you’ve ever thought that support doesn’t sound like it’s meant for you, we get it. We’re trying to change that. And being part of days like this helps us reach the men who usually get forgotten.
