MANUP? at Inspire Suffolk, Ipswich

  • Inspire Suffolk Lindbergh Road Ipswich, England, IP3 United Kingdom (map)

MANUP? will be in Ipswich as part of a wellbeing event for fostering and kinship carers across Suffolk.

This is not a traditional stall-style setup. We are there for one reason. To engage men properly, have real conversations, and capture honest video content that reflects something we know to be true. Men do talk, when the conditions are right.

The event focuses on supporting carers who spend much of their time caring for others and rarely have time for themselves. Many of those carers are men who do not see themselves in typical mental health messaging, or who are unsure where they fit within support services.

We will be using this event as an opportunity to speak directly with men, listen to their experiences, and where appropriate, record short video conversations for MANUP? social media. This helps us continue challenging the idea that men do not engage, while also signposting support in a way that feels human rather than transactional.

This is a deliberate gamble. Instead of handing out leaflets and hoping for the best, we are choosing conversation over clutter.

What we will be doing

  • Talking with male carers about mental health and support

  • Listening, not selling

  • Capturing short, consent-based video content

  • Signposting MANUP? sessions and wider support

This event is part of a wider series across Suffolk, but MANUP? will be attending Ipswich only.

If you are a carer attending the event and want to have a quick chat, ask questions, or simply say hello, you are welcome to do so.
