Sorting Your Head Out

  • MANUP? (Zoom) Crockatt Road Ipswich, England, IP7 6RH United Kingdom (map)

Your mind can be your best mate or your loudest heckler. When thoughts loop, sleep vanishes and motivation tanks, it is time to sort your head out. MANUP? fully funds this men-only session?, so there is no cost, no paperwork and no need to share your full name in Zoom.

Therapist James Elliott MSc starts by explaining why the male brain loves a worry spiral and how stress hormones keep the engine revving long after the danger has passed. You will learn to spot signals of mental overload: snappy replies, endless YouTube binges, missed events and the urge to power through.

We then build a practical toolkit:

  • One-minute reset drills that use breathing and grounding to steady you at your desk

  • Thought triage to bin junk worries and focus on what you can change

  • The three-line journal, a nightly habit that clears mental clutter in two minutes

  • Body-first fixes, small changes to movement, food and sleep that calm a racing mind

Cameras can stay off; you can use the chat or just listen. Every man leaves with a printable action plan, an anxiety scale to track progress and a list of helplines and apps that answer round the clock when self-help is not enough.
