Bethan Jones isn’t here for the status quo. She’s here because it’s personal. After losing her dad to suicide, she set out to understand what’s being missed in conversations about men’s mental health and who’s being left behind.
Her first-class dissertation explored how feminist critiques of masculinity are impacting white working-class young men. That work is now being reopened for publication with Dr John Barry at UCL. Since then, she’s delivered a keynote for the Ministry of Justice, reaching over 80,000 people, and spoken at Oxford University’s Psychiatry Department on behalf of Movember.
Bethan stays connected to academics and policy-makers worldwide who are asking the tough questions. Especially when it comes to how institutions have ignored or misunderstood what masculinity means for men today.
This session isn’t about ticking boxes. It’s about unpacking the things that rarely get said with someone who knows the subject inside out. Expect honest conversation, not polished answers.
Open to men and women. Free to attend with a Zoom account.
