Why Some Men Stop Talking With Claire Davis | MANUP? Talks

  • MANUP? 10 Great Colman Street Ipswich, England, IP4 2AD United Kingdom (map)

Some men don’t stop talking overnight.

It often starts with short answers. Avoiding conversations. Staying busy. Shutting down. Becoming distant. Saying “I’m fine” when they clearly aren’t.

This MANUP? Talk is for anyone who wants to better understand why some men emotionally withdraw, and why constantly telling men to “just open up” doesn’t always work.

Claire Davis joins MANUP? for an honest conversation around stress, pressure, relationships, communication, burnout, and the reasons many men quietly disengage long before anyone notices something is wrong.

This is not about blaming men or blaming women.

It’s about challenging assumptions, questioning behaviours, and helping people understand why some men feel unheard, judged, dismissed, or emotionally unsafe opening up.

Expect a straight-talking session that may challenge opinions and encourage reflection.

As with all MANUP? Talks, there will also be time for open Q&A and discussion.

Who is this for?

  • Men who feel emotionally exhausted, detached, or misunderstood

  • Partners are trying to better understand the man in their life

  • Parents, friends, colleagues, and professionals who support men

  • Anyone open to learning why some men stay silent
