Therapist James Elliott MSc unpacks why men drift into retreat, how the classic “I’m fine” masks rising hopelessness, and what to do when quiet turns corrosive.

We will explore the hidden signals that show your batteries are running flat rather than filling up: skipped meals, cancelled plans, sleep at odd hours and the creeping belief that nobody would notice if you disappeared. James then walks through daily routines that keep you grounded, including movement snacks, sunlight targets and realistic screen limits. You will learn low-pressure ways to rebuild connection, from three-minute check-ins with mates to volunteering that does not feel awkward.

Because tech can be either lifeline or loneliness amplifier, we will look at simple phone settings that stop endless scrolling, apps that put you in touch with real people and boundaries that keep work emails out of your bedroom.
